Is Our Humanity -- Indeed, Our Very Soul --
On the Line?

On the surface, my new book, Living in Synchrony, can be viewed as a guide book for healing by utilizing dozens of possible alternative therapies (including homeopathy). However, it may actually be better understood as a manifesto that makes three key points. In fact, stressing these points was an underlying reason for why I wrote it.

1) Our complete being goes way beyond the physical body and encompasses our higher energy bodies. These include: the Etheric Body (sometimes called the Vital Force), the Astral Body, the Mental Body, and the Causal Body. Each of our energy bodies regulates specific functions during our life, and in some cases, across lifetimes.

2) The innate healing power triggered by addressing the energy bodies is much greater than the healing power of treatments that address the physical body alone. This fact underlies a key weakness of conventional "allopathic" medicine, which only recognizes the existence of the physical body. It is also why alternative therapies have such immense healing potential -- because they at least acknowledge and in many cases directly address both the physical and energetic aspects of our complete being. Indeed, as far as I know, Living in Synchrony is the only book that organizes alternative therapies according to the primary body they address -- from the physical to the causal. It also provides guidelines and hints about which of the bodies may be the true root of someone's disease state, based on various characteristic of this state.

3) Tampering with our physical bodies, and certainly damaging our energy bodies, will likely not only diminish our inherent ability to heal on all levels, but could even rob us of what it truly means to be human, perhaps even robbing us of our very souls. This kind of tampering is the goal of transhumanists, who wish to not only merge their bodies with machines, but also genetically engineer them. The fulfillment of such aims is no longer a "pie in the sky" dream, but ominously, lies just around the corner, or may already be possible.

Put all of this together and you can understand the subtitle I chose for Living in Synchrony: A Guide to Healing and Reclaiming Our Powerful, Natural Humanity.

For me, the first two points above are eminently obvious. But the third one -- the inherent danger of transhumanism -- I have generally felt to be more of an intuition than a certainty. Just days ago, however, I came across the transcript of a lecture given by Rudolf Steiner in July 1923: "The Human Soul in its Connection with Divine-Spiritual Individualities." Those of you who have read my second book, Active Consciousness, know that Steiner was not only a skilled seer of the energy bodies, but also the developer of many systems of education and healing that are still popular today, including Waldorf Schools, Anthroposophical Medicine, and Biodynamic Agriculture.

All the way back in 1923, Steiner made many of the same points I tried to emphasize in Living in Synchrony. Among other content, this lecture emphasizes the role of the energy bodies as well as their behavior during sleep. Most ominously, however, Steiner's prognostications of the future are prophetic of what we are currently experiencing today with AI, Chat GPT, WIFI pollution, and the rampant brain-fog, depression, and anxiety overtaking us. The rest of this article provides select quotes from this lecture, along with some of my own commentary. Note that when Steiner uses the term "soul," he is referring to the part of us that separates from our physical body during sleep -- the Astral, Mental, and Causal Bodies.

"Gradually, people have lost any concepts that they can apply to the soul... Now we recall times when there was still a living awareness that the concept of the soul needs nourishment if it is to be present; that for the soul, one needs something to give to it, just as one needs nourishment for a living being... If the soul does not receive spiritual nourishment, it dies with the body!... In order for it to sustain itself, it must receive spiritual nourishment.. [By doing so] it conquers the transience of the physical and etheric bodies."

The illusionary nature of a life focused only upon the intellect:

"What has the age of intellectualism done?... They have only had reflections in their thoughts... So it is that the intellectualistic age has brought man completely out of himself, leaving him to experience only mirror images of reality."

Steiner then goes on to talk about the dangers EMFs pose to our energy bodies. Talking about the growing pervasiveness of electrical lines during that time (now, of course, much worse!), he says,

"This continuously induces currents in us... All this takes away the physical body from humanity, makes the physical body so that the soul cannot enter it at all. We must be clear about this: in the time when there were no electric currents, when the air was not buzzing with electrical lines, it was easier to be human... It was also not necessary for people to exert themselves so much to come to the spirit... Therefore it is necessary today to apply much greater spiritual capacity to be human at all than it was a hundred years ago.... Modern man needs this direct access to the spirit... so that... he may indeed be stronger in the face of those forces that are emerging with modern culture to solidify our physical body and take it away from us. Otherwise, it will come to the point that people, I would say, miss the boat in the evolution of humanity."

Amazingly, Steiner also prophesies the loss of human reasoning power and skill in the age of AI. Remember that this lecture was given in 1923!

"In the 16th century, people were still inwardly robust enough to think sharply in an intellectual way. They still took great pleasure in thinking intellectually. Today, we are already very close to people saying: Oh thinking is so hard, film the whole story for me so that I don't have to think and can watch it... Just imagine if you could film the whole multiplication table, then a person could always carry a camera in front of him [a smart phone?] and... the correct answer would be triggered... Gradually, man no longer wants to think because it starts to become unpleasant. Thinking becomes unpleasant. Man much prefers dreaming to thinking. And if those outer things, the outer cultural development, were to continue forever and a strong inner spiritual element were not to arise in the development, then it would actually be the case that all people would become reeling dreamers... Such a thing is in store for humanity. And this can only be counteracted by really getting involved in it, courageously and boldly tackling the spiritual world."

Finally, he says,

"Everywhere two things are juxtaposed. The world is completely dominated by externalization. The counterbalance: just as one must dry oneself after bathing, so one must delve inward in spirit, when the culture of of external observation is becoming greater and greater. This calls upon us to become inwardly more and more active when we are outwardly absorbed in that which no longer works through us but works ON us, so that we literally switch off as soul and spirit."

Steiner emphasizes, just as I do in Living in Synchrony, that a key way of preventing this horrific outcome is to recognize the importance of our connection with our complete being, which extends way beyond the physical.

"We can find [what] we need by realizing that the human being is such a complicated creature because the entities of the most diverse worlds flow together in him to form a total being."

So there you have it! Living in Synchrony is not only a guide to healing using dozens of techniques that go way beyond conventional medicine, but also serves as a blueprint for reclaiming our true power as complete human beings. I hope you not only check it out (I guarantee you will like it!), but also tell others about it. And please write a review on Amazon! Being a more general and less niche book than Impossible Cure, Living in Synchrony may be harder to sell, but I believe its message is just as (and perhaps more) urgent in the times we are currently living in.
